Roughton and District Womens Institute, Norfolk
Roughton and District WI was formed on the 26th January 1932 although there were a few years in which it was suspended.
We are a group of ladies who not only belong to WI for what it stands for but ladies who like to socialize and enjoy themselves and make new friends.
We meet on the second Wednesday of each month in the Village Hall, which is situated on Chapel Road, Roughton (opposite to the junction to Metton). Our meetings start at 7:30 p.m. – teas and coffees are served prior to this, which gives time to chat and make new friends.
Our meeting usually starts with a speaker, followed by a short break when members can again socialize and look at our correspondence table. This is then followed by the business.
We have a raffle each meeting to raise funds for the running of our WI. We have a competition each month relating to the subject of the meeting. Members who have a birthday during the month are presented with a small posy of flowers.
Guests are always welcome and are asked to pay a fee of £3 towards the WI expenses.
